Our staff will show you how to reach out and gently touch the back and 'wings' of these majestic creatures as they glide through their habitat. Hold a small piece of food between your knuckles and lower your hand into the water and our curious stingrays will swim over and slurp up their snack out of your hand.
Shark Talk & Feedings: Every Mon, Wed & Fri at 2:30 p.m., it's lunch time for our sharks! Come check out the unique feeding behaviors of these magnificent (and often misunderstood) creatures and learn about these incredible predators from one of our experts. Meet our mascot, Sherlock the Shark!
Alligator Snapping Turtle Talk & Feedings: Every Tues and Thurs at 2 p.m., come watch us feed our alligator snapping turtles (our most ravenous reptiles!) and see their powerful jaws and claws in action. Learn all about these unique creatures and their crucial role in the ecosystem. Baby Gator Talks & Feedings: Every Mon, Wed & Fri at 1:30 p.m., observe the incredible feeding habits of these fascinating creatures while they're still young. Their tiny jaws, chirping sounds and captivating movements, are both educational and entertaining!
Interactive Tidepool Experience: Visit our Shoreline touch pools and learn fascinating fun facts about sea stars, cleaner shrimp, anemones and more! Touch pools allow for a close up, hands on interaction with our marine life with over 400 creatures!
Touch A Moon Jelly: This alien-looking creature is named for its translucent, moonlike bell. While many jellies pack quite a potent stinging punch, moon jellies have stinging cells that are not strong enough to penetrate human skin so guests are able to gently touch their bells.
Red River Treasure Mine: Did you know fossil records indicate Louisiana used to be at the bottom of a great ocean? Hunt for treasure, gems, fossilized shark teeth and ancient marine specimens at our treasure mine, using our 35 foot-long indoor sluice. Treasure hunters get to keep their finds to start or add to a collection and take home their own fact card.
Unique Events! Meet our mermaids on Saturday, Oct. 28 for our twice annual Mermaid Breakfast! It's a FIN-tastic adventure you won't want to miss. Enjoy a fun breakfast of pancakes with sprinkles, scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, bacon, fruit, juice and coffee. Pick out your mermaid or pirate name. Enjoy sing-alongs, story time, photo and autograph session, crafts and more! Mermaid and pirate attire encouraged! Seatings at 8:30 or 10:30 a.m.
