POSITION SUMMARY: Facilities/Maintenance Manager

 

The Shreveport Aquarium's mission is to educate, inspire, and entertain guests while promoting community sustainability. The Facilities Manager plays a vital role in making sure that the facility stays neat, clean and in tip-top condition, by ensuring that the necessary repairs and maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities

  • Performing minor fixes such as drywall repair, painting, caulking, roofing etc.

  • Performing minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs

  • HVAC/ plumbing/ electrical maintenance

  • Installation of appliances and equipment

  • Creating maintenance and repair logs

  • Creating preventative maintenance programs

  • Coordination with subcontractors and staff members on special projects

  • Assistance with special event décor installations

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

  • Experience using hand and electrical tools.

  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Physical stamina and dexterity

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to pass a background check

 

COMPENSATION

  • Full time, salary $45,000 - $50,000, depending on experience

  • Eligibility for annual performance bonuses

  • Medical, dental, vision plan 60/40

  • Generous PTO plan starting at 10 days per year
