Shreveport Aquarium Launches “Summer of Sharks” with Double the Fun and 50% Savings

Get chummy with Shreveport Aquarium this summer during Summer of Sharks, running June 16 through July 27, featuring jaw-some activities, hands-on shark encounters, science talks, special events, and a fin-tastic Shark Week grand finale. Even better—guests who visit between June 16 and July 19 will receive a 50% off coupon to return for Shark Week (July 20–27).

Summer of Sharks Highlights (June 16 – July 19)

• Mine for Megalodon Teeth – Daily. Unearth real fossilized shark teeth in the Red River Treasure Mine. One lucky guest each week will find a giant Megalodon tooth! (Extra fee, all finds kept.)

• Shark Talks & Feedings – Mon/Wed/Fri at 2:30 PM. Watch sharks dine while experts share fascinating facts. Plus, meet Sherlock the Shark, the aquarium’s popular mascot.

• Science is Neat: SHARK Edition – Sundays at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM Join Science & Research Manager Jackson Wheat for engaging, kid-friendly shark talks & demos before the Shark Week crowds arrive.

• Shark Tooth Station & Megalodon Jaw Photo Opp – Daily. Explore shark tooth specimen game, and strike a pose inside a giant set of Megalodon chompers.

• Learn about Yoko, the Mystery Swell Shark – Daily. Yoko, a baby shark born without any male present, has made headlines worldwide! Guests can follow her story and learn about rare shark reproduction.

• Stingray & Bamboo Shark Touch & Feed – Daily. Touch and feed small sharks and rays while learning about their similarities and unique senses.

• Adopt-a-Shark – Daily. Symbolically adopt one of the aquarium’s sharks and receive a plush, certificate, and conservation info.

Shark Week Grand Finale (July 20–27)

• Shark Crafts & Senses Lab – Daily. Hands-on crafts from 11 AM–12 PM and sensory discovery lab from 1–2 PM.

• Trivia & Tacos Night – Tuesday, July 22, 5:30 & 7 PM seatings. A family-friendly evening of tacos, trivia, and shark-themed cocktails. $15 public / Free for members.

• Blood Drive with LifeShare – Wednesday, July 23, 10 AM – 2 PM Give blood, save lives
