Where science meets show business!

 

EduTainers are a team of creative educators who use the aquarium as a stage to inspire guests to become conservation activists! EduTainers use their talents to play games, tell stories, give directions, and interact with guests of all ages and backgrounds.

 

EduTainer Responsibilities

  • Help guests find meaning in their aquarium interactions and encourage them to apply what they discover in the aquarium to their every day lives and conservation at large.

  • Hosting guests throughout the attraction and providing information on a variety of exhibits

  • Creating safe interactions between guests and animals

  • Tailoring content to different audiences

  • Keeping assigned galleries tidy, safe, and ready to receive guests

  • Continually learning new content about our animals and our planet and translating that to guests

  • Actively seeking out interaction with guests of all ages and cultures

  • Sales and cashiering

  • Contributing to special Aquarium events and programs like field trips, members only nights, summer camps and holiday offerings. 

  • Creating unexpected, memorable and positive guest experiences

  • Facilitating interactions at touch stations that are safe for ambassadors and guests.

  • Maintains knowledge of aquarium facilities, programs, animals, and staff.

  • EduTainers may become several walking characters through the year- pirates, elves, palaeontologists – the possibilities are as limitless as the sea!

  • Outgoing, approachable, friendly, and reliable, a ‘people’ person

  • Believe that humans can change the world for the better

  • Comfortable with both formally addressing and casually conversing with the public

  • High energy level

  • Loves to learn and loves to teach

 

Requirements

  • At least 2-year experience in Customer Service is a PLUS

  • Strong communication skills

  • Background in theatre a BIG PLUS

  • Must comply with background check

  • Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and late evenings

 

Compensation

Part-time only (20- 25 hours a week) starting at $11 per hour
