Head Chef




As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the culinary operations of our restaurant and event venue. Your responsibilities encompass various aspects of kitchen management, from food preparation and inventory management to menu development and staff training. Your expertise will ensure that our kitchen maintains high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety while maximizing profitability.



  • Weekly Inventorying and rotating of food products and rotating product as needed.

  • Ordering for both kitchen and bar needs (except alcohol) including runs to various grocery stores as needed

  • Prepping and cooking for lunch service

  • Prepping and cooking for select aquarium field trips and birthday parties as needed

  • Prepping and cooking for private events that opt for in-house catering

  • Prepping and cooking for any other events as needed

  • Ensuring kitchen is kept clean and sanitary to meet all health code regulations and food safety guidelines

  • Ensuring walk in fridge/ freezer is kept clean and sanitary.

  • Coordinating with Event Manager for event food needs

  • Coordinating with guest chefs on kitchen needs for partnered private events

  • Creating new menus and menu items as needed

  • Working with Restaurant manager on in-house event coordination

  • Working with Restaurant and event manager on updating in-house catering menu

  • Creating cost control measures for BOH to ensure minimal waste and proper prep numbers

  • Working with Restaurant Manager to make sure price points of daily and catering menus are appropriate

  • Hiring and Training of all BOH personnel 

  • Maintenance of restaurant recipe book

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation and appearance

  • Manage and control food costs and minimize expenses to maximize profits

  • Coordinating with Facilities Manager for any kitchen repairs

  • Coordinating with General Manager for any equipment service needs

  • Any other tasks as needed



  • Minimum of 10 years restaurant experience with the majority in a supervisory capacity

  • Willingness and ability to adhere to company employee guidelines

  • Ability to obtain and hold valid Louisiana Driver’s License.



  • Full time, salaried position of $40k

  • Eligibility for annual performance bonuses
