Membership & Group Sales Manager

Position Summary
The Membership & Group Sales Manager is a revenue-focused sales professional responsible for driving aquarium memberships and group sales through proactive outreach, relationship building, and on-site conversion strategies. This role is ideal for a motivated salesperson who thrives in a guest-centered environment and understands how to turn one-time visitors into long-term supporters.
The ideal candidate has a proven sales background, excels at closing, and is comfortable engaging with families, organizations and businesses to grow repeat visitation and group bookings.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Sales & Retention

Serve as the primary driver of aquarium membership sales, both on-site and through outbound efforts

Actively engage guests on the floor to convert day-of visitors into members

Develop and implement membership sales strategies, promotions, and seasonal campaigns

Track membership performance, renewal rates, and conversion metrics

Collaborate with guest services staff to ensure consistent membership messaging and upselling
Group Sales

Develop and manage group sales partnerships including:

Barksdale Military bases and military-affiliated organizations
-
Corporations purchasing bulk tickets for employees, clients, or promotions

Convention planners, conference organizers, and destination management organizations

Tourism partners, hotels, and local businesses

Proactively prospect and outreach to new group clients via email, phone, networking, and in-person meetings

Negotiate group pricing, bulk ticket agreements, and recurring partnerships

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate ticketing, redemption, and guest experience
Sales Reporting & Strategy

Provide regular sales reports and insights on trends, opportunities, and challenges

Recommend new pricing structures, packages, and incentives based on guest behavior and performance data
Qualifications
-
Minimum 3 years of proven sales experience (hospitality, attractions, memberships or tourism preferred)

Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals

Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

Comfortable engaging guests in person, over the phone, and via email

Highly organized with excellent follow-up and time-management skills

Passion for education, conservation, and guest experience is a plus

What We Offer

Competitive base salary of $35,000
-
Annual performance bonus beginning at up to 10% of annual salary, after completion of one year’s employment, and increasing up to 5% per year to a maximum of 25% per year.
