Sales & Marketing Manager

Seeking creative, innovative individual with experience in the areas of event sales, general sales, marketing, branding, public relations, social media, website management, networking, advertising, strategy, and campaign development and execution.  At the core as a primary driver are event sales including, but not limited to; corporate, private, celebratory, weddings, etc.  Must be highly resourceful with a strong work ethic, a solid skill set, willingness to learn, and team player possessing both quick thinking and flexibility is ideal. Salary range is dependent upon experience with a structured commission package. Includes medical, visual and dental benefits after a 90 probationary period. Position reports to General Manager.



  • Development, execution, and overseeing of Site Sales/Marketing strategy for new and existing programs, products, and events

  • Overseeing implementation of Site Sales/Marketing strategy - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR        

  • Adherence Brand strategy as aligns with Planet Aqua Group (PAG)

  • Event sales for both Shreveport Aquarium and SALT Restaurant; corporate, private, celebratory, weddings, etc.

  • Event coordination

  • Work closely with senior management team to define marketing materials and programs across site and for outreach

  • Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition specific to on-site events, contracted events, and site programs

  • Website management

  • Manage newsletter

  • Developing and delivering sales, marketing and communications strategies for the Site in addition to PAG and Planet Aqua Group foundation as required

  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends

  • Marketing calendar management

  • Clear, concise communication in all aspects; verbal, written, demonstrative

  • Retention/maintenance/adherence to 501(c)(3) rules, regulations, guidelines (when applicable)

  • Transparency and reporting to Site and PAG Management

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Willingness and ability to adhere to and enforce company employee guidelines (i.e. Planet Aqua Group – site specific policies and guidelines

  • Five (5) years’ experience in sales, marketing or combination of management including customer service preferred

  • Proven track record of success in senior sales and/or marketing roles

  • Confident, driven and dynamic leader

  • Clear, concise communicator

  • Strong contract negotiation experience

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities

  • IT experience a plus

  • Must complete successful background check/drug screening

  • Demonstration of experience/acumen with outlined responsibilities

  • Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and late evenings

  • BA/BS, extensive experience, or combination of both preferred
