JOB DESCRIPTION - MARKETING COORDINATOR (part-time)

MARKETING COORDINATOR

The Shreveport Aquarium is currently recruiting for a dynamic part-time marketing coordinator to assist with promoting our amazing programs and fun events, as well as assisting with the day-to-day marketing tasks.

Scheduled workdays and hours may vary, but a typical schedule would be three to five days a week, three to four hours a day. The majority of the work would be remote with onsite visits twice per week.

Crew Responsibilities

The part time marketing coordinator would perform the following functions under the direct supervision of the marketing director:

  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns while maintaining brand standards

  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability

  • Assist in developing strategies to raise awareness of, and encourage participation in the identified activities

  • Develop and execute targeted e-mail and text marketing campaigns

  • Update and maintain public event calendars, blogs/sites with aquarium upcoming events and specials

  • Develop news releases and submit to media

  • Assist with other outreach and engagement activities as needed

  • Support marketing director as needed

Requirements

  • Proficiency in some combination of advertising, social media and marketing 

  • Working knowledge of social media and basic graphic design tools

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and deadline

 

Experience & Education

Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would qualify. A typical way to acquire the skills and abilities would include:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design or marketing

  •  Professional experience working in communications and/or marketing

  •  Experience working for organizaons offering kids activities and enrichment programs

Compensation

Part-time Only (10-20 hours a week, $15 - $20 per hour depending on experience level)
