Event Sales Consultant (part-time)
Seeking creative, innovative individual with experience in the areas of event sales, general sales, social media and networking. At the core as a primary driver are event sales including, but not limited to; corporate, private, celebratory, weddings, etc. Must be highly resourceful with a strong work ethic, a solid skill set, willingness to learn, and team player possessing both quick thinking and flexibility is ideal. Part-time Salary: $24,000 plus commission. Possible opportunity to move to full-time employment with this position. Position reports to General Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively solicit external prospects for events for both Shreveport Aquarium and SALT Restaurant; corporate, private, celebratory, weddings, etc. as part of a strategic plan

Attend monthly networking events (Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, Rotary Club, etc)

Manage leads effectively

Work with event coordinator and clients to plan event and negotiate contract

Work with event coordinator to assist in managing the logistics of an event, including room space, guests, vendors, programs, catering, set-up and break down

Manage event email inbox and Wedding Wire page, and respond to all event inquiries within hours

Manage event social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation by posting, monitoring and responding to comments in timely manner

Assist in contracting and billing of all events including proposals, contracts, timelines, and event invoices using the Caterease system

Manage event calendar

Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Willingness and ability to adhere to and enforce company employee guidelines (i.e. Planet Aqua Group – site specific policies and guidelines

Three (3) years’ experience in sales, marketing or combination of management including customer service preferred

Proven track record of success in sales and/or marketing roles

Must complete successful background check/drug screening
