EDU-TAINMENT MANAGER

 

Where science meets show business!

 

The EduTainment Manager is the primary memory maker at the Shreveport Aquarium and responsible for training and developing and team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable EduTainers.

 

​EduTainment Manager Responsibilities

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training a staff of EduTainers

  • Staying in tune with the latest conservation/marine science findings and presenting new knowledge to staff periodically to keep the team learning and growing

  • Finding professional development opportunities and arranging staff outings

  • Following cash handling best practices while deploying/checking in cash registers

  • Creates high levels of morale and inspires collaboration among and between departments

  • Observing EduTainer performance and ensuring it meets company targets and goals, and providing coaching  or discipline when it does not

  • Scheduling EduTainment staff and finding solutions for call-outs/ scheduling conflicts as they arise.

  • Encouraging, inspiring, and celebrating the EduTainment staff and making sure they have the tools and knowledge necessary to not only succeed in their roles, but LOVE their jobs.

  • Enforcing aquarium policy among staff and guests

  • Professionally and respectfully handling guest/staff complaints

  • Doing daily, comprehensive security checks of building and grounds

  • Ensure all areas of attraction are presented in the best way possible, ensuring clean and tidy presentation at all times (includes exterior of building and entire guest journey).

  • Act as a role model for the attraction, ensuring enthusiasm in interactions with both guests and employees.

  • Complete an hourly walkaround of the entire attraction, making contact with each position on the floor to ensure ideal presentation, stock levels, interactions and area cleanliness.

Requirements

  • At least 2-year experience in a leadership/management position

  • Willingness and ability to adhere to company employee guidelines 

  • Ability to pass a background check

  • Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and late evenings

 

Compensation

  • Full time, salaried position of $35,000 per year
