Our field trips are FINtastic! Combine hands-on learning with educational talks and up close animal encounters! Stingray feedings may be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Ready to book your group visit?

Please review the information below and then click on Contact Us to let us know your requested date and number in party. Our Education Team will get back to you within 48 hours (please check your junk email if you have not heard from us).

It is a good idea to book your field trip 1-3 months in advance to be sure we can accommodate your group. We cannot wait to spend the day with you!

General Information:

  • All school groups MUST book in advance with our Education Team.

  • School Group visits are available Wednesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

  • Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome!

School Group Rates:

  • The school and home school group rate for students is $5 each. There must be 1 adult for every 10 students. How to Get the Most Out of Your Visit:

  • Be sure you understand the plan for the day by checking in with the group leader.

  • Please allow time to park and prepare for your visit

  • Share the behavior guidelines with all group visitors.

  • Be prepared to have fun while learning about the wonders of the ocean!

  • Ask our educators about anything you want to know more about!

SALT Café:

  • SALT Café offers delicious sandwiches, pizzas, salads and sack lunches for purchase, that can be pre-ordered for your group.  Your educator will provide you with the menu when you book your fieldtrip. Orders must be submitted at least 72 hours in advance.

  • Those who purchase menu items from the Café are welcome to enjoy their meal in our Café or in our beautiful courtyard.

  • Any outside food (including homemade sack lunches) is not permitted in the Café or in the courtyard. Riverview Park and the Red River District make the perfect location for a picnic lunch!

  • Due to limited space, Shreveport Aquarium does not have a designated location to store outside food or in the case of inclement weather, a location for students to eat inside the facilities. Please plan ahead.

What to Expect:

To ensure that each visitor has the best possible experience, Shreveport Aquarium follows a timed-ticketing method. This means that every 30 minutes, a limited number of guests will be welcome to enter. For example, if you have a group of 100 visitors, half of the group will be admitted first, and then the other half 30 minutes later. Please plan the necessary travel itinerary ahead of your arrival. Morning school and community tours typically last about an hour and are guided by our very knowledgeable educators. Together your group will explore the different exhibits as the guides point out the different species, their habitats, fun facts, while answering all of your questions. Then, your group will be led to our three touch pools where you will “pet” sea stars, cleaner shrimp, stingrays, and jellyfish!

Please note: Due to limited space, your group will not be admitted into the Aquarium until your reserved time slot. Please plan to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your reservation.

Code of Conduct:

  • No flash photography, please!

  • Be courteous and respectful of all visitors. Talk quietly as you explore the wonders of the Aquarium.

  • Be respectful of the Aquarium exhibits and building.

  • Please do not use pens or pencils inside the Aquarium unless permitted by a staff member.

  • Help protect the animals. When permitted, touch the animals gently using the illustrated two-finger touch method. Please do not disturb animals by tapping on the windows.

  • Keep food, drinks and gum outside the Aquarium. Guests are welcome to discover the delicious cuisine in the adjoining restaurant SALT or enjoy a picnic lunch next door in Riverview Park

  • Adults must stay with children and students at all times during your visit, regardless of the age of the student.

What Else You Should Know:

  • If a group member gets lost or injured, please find the nearest staff member to assist you.

  • The Retail Store is located at the end of the Aquarium next to the Touching Tomorrow, Today gallery.

  • If you are running late for your reserved group visit, please call ahead.

  • We do not have a designated location inside of the Aquarium for groups to eat sack lunches. If weather permits, the adjoining restaurant SALT has a beautiful courtyard to sit and eat, and Riverview Park makes the perfect location for a picnic lunch!
