Timed Ticketing – How Does It Work?


One frequent question that we receive is “Do I need a reservation to visit the aquarium?”.


We strongly advise our guests to purchase tickets in advance through our website.  For those who aren’t able to purchase tickets online, we do have a limited amount of tickets for each time slot available at our admissions desk. These tickets, however, are subject to availability and the entry time you’d like may be sold out. Guests that purchase tickets at our admissions desk (especially Friday-Sunday) may also be placed in a time block later than their arrival time.

We utilize a timed ticketing system to limit the amount of people entering the aquarium in thirty minute windows of time.  This affords us the ability to ensure the aquarium is not over-crowded, and for our guests to have an incredible experience!


Here’s How It Works

Click on Day Passes under the Buy Tickets option on the main menu.  Select the date you’d like to visit the aquarium. Then, select the time you’d like to arrive!  You can arrive at the designated time until thirty minutes after.  Early arrivals are not permitted, however late arrivals are permitted subject to time slot availability.

How Much Are Tickets?

Adult tickets are $12.00, children between 3-12 $8.00, seniors 55+ $9.00, children under 3 are free with paid adult. Special rates for schools and groups.  Discounted rates are available at our admissions desk for active military, first responders, seniors, students, and AAA Members with valid ID. Discounted tickets are not available for online purchase, they must be purchased at our admissions desk.


What Do I Do When I arrive?

After you park (if our lot is full, our friends next door at the El Dorado Resort are happy to share their garage across the street), find the designated entry line (you’ll see a reservation time posted at the line) and we’ll begin to open that line at your entry time!  On Monday-Thursday, just come on inside and we’ll bring you in at your designated time or point you to the right area.


Do I Need a Printed Ticket if I Purchased In Advance?

No! We can scan the ticket from your confirmation email, your online Shreveport Aquarium account, or in the case of a lost ticket/email, by your name with valid ID.  Tickets purchased at our admissions desk must be presented at check-in.


What If I Don’t Use My Ticket?

Unused tickets may be applied to a different day (in advance) at our Admissions Desk or refunded by the original method of payment if the purchase was within the last 14 days.
