BAR MANAGER

This job contributes to the success of the S A L T brand by leading the bar service team in the creation and sustainability of the S A L T Guest Experience. The successful bar manager regularly and customarily exercises discretion in managing the bar operation of their location. In particular, a majority of time is spent supervising and directing the team, making staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, discharging, staffing and scheduling), ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality, managing the location’s financial performance, and managing safety and security within the bar and guest environment. This role is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with S A L T’s guiding principles..

 

Crew Member Responsibilities

Setting goals for location staff, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:

  • Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the bar team to implement them to meet operational and organizational objectives
  • Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of  S A L T
  • Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to bar crew members to ensure smooth flow of operations
  • Provides coaching and direction to the bar service team to take action and to achieve operational goals. Constantly reviews bar service environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching and direction to the bar service team to achieve operational goals
  • Monitors and manages bar and guest service staffing levels to ensure crew member development and talent acquisition to achieve and maintain bar and guest service operational requirements
  • Utilizes existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and regularly uses discretion to filter communications to the bar service team. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective bar service operations

  • Demonstrated experience at building community relationships

  • Ability to manage bar and guest service operations independently
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple situations simultaneously
  • Knowledge of guest service techniques and supervisory practices and procedures

  • Resolve guest complaints promptly

  • Make certain all deliveries are checked in correctly and documentation is correct
  • Check stock is correctly rotated to reduce wastage
  • Oversee the bar and guest service display to maximize functionality and attractiveness
  • Set, monitor and control budget for the beverage unit/bar and guest service
  • Plan and implement cost control measures
  • Plan and implement systems to maximize sales and revenue
  • Organize promotional activities
  • Generate and present financial reports
  • Implement improvements for products and service
  • Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to adhere to company employee guidelines (i.e. Planet Aqua Group – Shreveport Aquarium policies and guidelines)
  • At least 3 years of bar Management experience
  • ABO Certified
  • At least 2 years bartending experience in an upscale high paced bar environment
  • Experience creating and analyzing financial reports
  • Must comply with background check
  • Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and late evenings
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

 

Compensation based upon experience.
