JOB DESCRIPTION

HOUSEKEEPING

Keep building in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning restrooms, floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Some outside work will be needed. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and sometimes late evenings.

 

Crew Member Responsibilities

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming, gather and empty trash
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms, clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees, clean and polish furniture and fixtures
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; Steam-clean or shampoo carpets; Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment
  • Follow all OSHA, identified external, and internal policies, protocols, and procedures
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
  • Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation
  • Ensure that MDSD book is up-to-date and compliant to OSHA standards
  • Be available and willing to engage guests as needed or requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to adhere to company employee guidelines (i.e. Planet Aqua Group – Shreveport Aquarium policies and guidelines)
  • 2-years experience is a PLUS but not required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must complete successful background check
  • Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and late evenings
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Compensation

Part-time Only (16-28 hours a week) $8.50-$10 based on position and experience with most starting at $8.50.
